Eureka!

Eureka has been added to Final Fantasy XIV in the last major patch. With that, the first stage of the new 4.0 relic has been added as well. What is different is that this time, they added relic armor too. On first impressions of the new instance, it seemed like a horribly long grind to get the required crystals to trade in for everything. But after playing in the instance for over a week, I can say that the grind isn’t really even a grind. It feels like being thrown back into Final Fantasy XI. I enjoyed playing FFXI when it was out and relevant. Eureka is definitely created with pleasing FFXI fans in mind.

Regarding Eureka being tied into the first stage of the Stormblood relic, this first step has been the quickest start to any relic from 2.0 and 3.0. Atma and luminous crystals had atrocious drop rates. People are relating the Notorious Monsters to FATE grinding. What they seem to not realize is that the first step in the previous two relics also consisted of FATE grinding. Except, this time you are not having to grind super long and pray to RNG that you get the drops that you need.

Overall i’m impressed with Eureka. I can’t wait to see what they add to the instance in the future. The best way at the moment to get the crystals is to join “The Train” and slay the NMs as a group. People are always looking for group and share the common goal.
